These listings are primarily Callaway County Missouri cemeteries, where I do much of my genealogy research. Most headstone photos include what other information I could find - parents, spouses, children, etc. While I have taken many photographs, these are not complete cemetery listings.
There are many places I have not yet visited, and many headstones can no longer be found. I have included what information I have on these people too, even though they do not have a tombstone photograph.
You may find photos of your family here, send me a note, I may have more information. herringgenealogy @ gmail dot com
Please do not take my photos and put them on Find A Grave.
I am working on putting them all there.

Callaway County, Missouri, USA
There are many small private family cemeteries in Callaway Co. Mo., that are deteriating. Some have been completely destroyed. It is very sad to see the condition of some of these. Missouri needs a law to protect what is left, or in the next few years many of these family cemeteries will be gone. I don't live in Missouri so I can't spend my weekends trying to clean up some of these burial grounds. But just cleaning away the brush isn't going to help as long as the land owners in Missouri continue to be allowed to let cattle and horses roam freely through the cemeteries.
Herring #2 is almost destroyed now. Fletcher-Hill is actively being destroyed; we found evidence that horses are gazing there and breaking the stones. A large part of Burdette is disappearing into the weeds of neglect. Whittington Allen is mowed and fenced, but many of the stones have been simply moved to the side and piled up so it can be mowed. Herring Carter cemetery has been totally destroyed. Our ancestors deserve more respect than this.
Remember Me
by David Foster
Remember, I will still be here
As long as you hold me, in your memory
Remember, when your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
Just remember me
I am the one star that keeps burning, so brightly,
It is the last light, to fade into the rising sun
I'm with you
Whenever you tell my story
For I am all I've done
Remember, I will still be here
As long as you hold me, in your memory
Remember me
I am the one voice in the cold wind, that whispers
And if you listen, you'll hear me call across the sky
As long as I still can reach out, and touch you
Then I will never die
Remember, I'll never leave you
If you will only
Remember me
Remember, I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory
Remember, when your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
I live forever
Remember me
