    • Death Of Marshall Pratt
      Young Farmer of McCredie Community Passed Away Friday Night After Lingering Illness
      Marshall Holman Pratt, 30 years old, died Friday night at 11:30 o'clock at his home, just west of McCredie, after a lingering illness. He had been in poor health for several months and went to the Mayo Brothers Hospital, in Rochester, Minn., about six weeks ago. They found they could not benefit him, however, and he returned home.
      Funeral services were held at the Old Auxvasse Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial was in the cemetery of that church.
      Mr. Pratt was born in the McCredie community, and had lived there all his life, farming on the old Pratt homestead at the time of his death. He was married about five years ago to Miss Evelyn Threlkeld, of Mexico, who with one son, four years old, survives. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pratt, of McCredie, and had one sister, Mrs. McP. Guthrie, of near McCredie.
      Mr. Pratt was a member of the Old Auxvasse Presbyterian church and took a great interest in the work of that congregation. He was superintendent of the Sunday school at the time of his death. He was a young man of fine character, upright and charitable, and was held in the highest esteem by all those who knew him. His death is a cause for much sorrow to his family, friends and the entire community. Deepest sympathy is extended to all those who are bereaved.
