      The following special from Platte City, Mo.,, dated July 24th, Dr. A.T. Guthrie, one of the oldest physicians and citizens of the county, died today. His wife died a fortnight ago in Tennessee. His son and only child lies seriously ill. Dr. Guthrie is a native callawegian and has an aged mother residing in this county.

      Death of A.T. Guthrie - Died July 28th, 1883 of inflammation of the bowels, at his residence in Olatte City, Mo., Dr. A.T. Guthrie, in the 58th year of his age. A month ago this community was startled by a dispatch from Tennessee announcing the death of Mrs. Bennie M. Guthrie, his wife. - daughter Addie -. The grave was in the family lot, where lie Dr. Guthrie's first wife, and her two sons. Addison Taylor Guthrie son of Samuel Guthrie and Sallie Phillips, was born in Callaway county, Mo., January 19, 1826. - he located his life work at Olatte City, May 1855. He was married shortly afterwards, to Miss Marthe E. Williams, who died November 1st, 1848. May 30th, 1861 he was married to Miss Bennie M. Cary, whose decease has already been noticed. Two sons, Danial and Willie, were fruits of his first marriage, both lie in the grave beside their mother. His second wife had but one child, Addie (Addison). Will take home with his uncle, John A. Guthrie, at Mexico, Audrain county, Mo. - Dr. Guthrie made no will, but left authority to Mr. Wm. Norton to control and dispose of the Platte County Bank at pleasure.
