      Surprised on Birthday
A surprise birthday celebration in honor of the seventy-ninth anniversary of his birth was tendered James M. McClanahan last Saturday at the home of his son, Samuel S. McClanahan, northeast of Fulton. All of his children and grandchildren were in attendance, each family bringing a portion of the dinner, and the day was spent most pleasantly. The children present were Mrs. B.B. Kimbrell, Mrs. A.H. Miller, J. Polk McClanahan and S.S. McClanahan. The wives and husbands of the children and their ten children were present. Mr. McClanahan is one of Callaway's splendid old men and The Gazette hope he will live to celebrate many more birthdays.
