Notes	On the1900 census, Claude Herring, age 6, is living with Clarence (born 1872) and Susan Lamar Craighead (born 1875). Claude is listed as a ward. Claude was a distant cousin through the Craighead, Dunlap, and Hardin families. There is another Claude Herring, also born in 1894, who was a son of John Milton Herring and Cassander Woods. These two Claude Herrings are not the same person, they are cousins. I found Claude on the 1910 census, living with his father and stepmother. His father is 52 years old, stepmother is 18.
