Irving "Tots" Holt graduated from Fulton High School and attended Central Missouri State University. He was considered the best conservationist farmer in Callaway County. He won the Balanced Farming award in 1957. He was the soil supervisor for Callaway County, and a member of the State Board of Soil Supervision. He won the Pasture Improvement award in 1968. He was the first to introduce Japanese clover and Korean Lespedeza to the county. He was successful in cross breeding cattle, and also raised Percheron horses.
