- Matthew married ELIZABETH KING, and settled in Callaway Co. in 1829. Pioneer book of Missouri
Found an obit for one of his daughters, which also names his son R.J. Davis. I have no other information on daughter Nancy Davis Allen except the obit:
Callaway Weekly Gazette
Aug. 2, 1878
Died
Allen - in Kansas City, Mo., on Friday, the 21st. inst., Mrs. Nancy Allen, late of Lincoln, Neb., in the 70th year of her age.
On the first of March last, the deceased was stricken down with paralysis, since when; until death ended her sufferings, she has lain upon a bed from which her relatives and friends knew she would never arise. Through her long life she had been a true Christian woman, and for many years a devoted mother to her fatherless children.
Mrs. Allen had many relatives and friends in this county. She was the sister of R.J. Davis who lives a few miles south of town.
She emigrated to this county in 1829 with her father, Matthew Davis, who settled on the farm south of town, known as the Collier Farm.
