Her parents were Thomas Cason, 1862 - 1836 and Nancy Day, 1765 - 1850. Copy of her father's will below in which she is named.

It is my will that all the balance of my estate shall be sold and the money arising therefrom, except what I shall hereafter reserve, be divided between my children John, Nelson, Granville, Edmund, Dandridge, Nancy, Lucinda, Pamelia, and my granddaughter Eliza Fitzhugh so as to make them equal, having regard to what I have already given them, a list of which I hereunto annex, and I wish such a part reserved, of the money arising as aforesaid, as when added to what I have already given my daughter Polly Wilkinson will make an equal share, which I leave in trust with my friend George White, for the benefit of my said daughter Polly Wilkinson and her children to be by the said Trustee given her and her children as he may think proper as she needs it.
It is my will that the land and negroes I lend my wife as above shall at her death be sold and the money shall be equally divided (exact one tenth) parts between my children John, Nelson, Granville, Edmund, Dandridge, Nancy, Lucinda, Pamelia, and my granddaughter Eliza Fitzhugh and one tenth I reserve as above I leave in trust with my said friend George White for the benefit of my daughter Polly Wilkinson and her children to be by him given them as he may think they need it.
It is my will that should the trustee I have herein apponted refuse to act, my Executor shall retain the money I have herein left in trust in his hands and be furnished to said Polly Wilkinson and children as he may think she needs it or lay it out for the benefit of said Polly Wilkinson and children (with her consent) if he may think proper.
