On the 1930 census, they lived in Kansas City at 4409 in an apartment. They paid $45 rent and did have a radio. His sister, Mayme's son Vernon Waters was living in this same apartment complex. Herbert's occupation was house builder, Ruth's was apartment manager.
Four brothers Herbert, Woodson, Allen, Norman, served in WW I of 1917-1919. All came out without a scratch, per DWH letter
