  Thomas Chambers was born abt. 1768; he was underage at the time of his father's will, 15 October 1782. A bond for the marriage of he and Mary Poynor, daughter of John Poynor and Eleanor unknown, was signed on 25 December 1796 in Halifax County, Virginia; bondsman was William Murray. Polly signed her own consent. The Chambers daughter was listed along with her siblings in a court record regarding the estate of John Poynor. The mother Elinor was sometimes refered to as Elinda or Nelly.
