    • Mrs. Brooks Herring Dead
      Mrs. Samira Maud Herring, 32 years of age, died at her home in Kansas City, last Thursday, and was buried at Carrington cemetery on Friday, after funeral services by Revs. Egan Herdon and Brown. Death was caused by childbirth complications, twin babies having been born to her, one of which, a son, survives the mother.
      She was the wife of Brooks Herring and the daughter of T.B. Hook, of this county, who survive her, as do two brothers, Samuel B. Hook and Edward, Hook, residing southwest of Fulton. Mrs. Herring was a member of the Baptisst church and died in the full assurance of the Christian's hope. Her untimely death brought sorrow to many hearts and the sympathy of all goes out to those who mourn for her.

      Her name was spelled both with an E at the end and without. It has no E on her headstone, so I'm leaving it that way here.
