MARSHALL SMITH DIES IN ARKANSAS
Funeral Services to be held there Friday for Callaway Man
Marshall Smith, brother of E.K. Smith of McCredie, died Tuesday at Ft. Smith, Ark. He was 68 years old. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at Fort Smith. Burial will be in a Ft. Smith cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born February 24, 1879, in Callaway County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Granville Smith. He was a plasterer and made his home in Callaway until 20 years ago, when he moved to Ft. Smith. He was known to his friends as "Pud." He is survived by his wife, one son, Granville Smith of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Mrs. Alma Thomas of Portland, Ore., and his brother at McCredie.

Marshall C. Smith
Marshall C. Smith, 68 years old, died of a heart attack Tuesday at the weight and permit station, 122 Garrison Avenue where he was employed as a permit agent for the Arkansas revenue department. Mr. Smith was a member of the Central Presbyterian church, Belle Point Masonic Lodge, and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He had been a resident of Fort Smith 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, of the home, 725 North Greenwood Avenue; two sons, Granville Smith, Detroit, Mich., and J.B. Hardwood, Van Buren; one sister, Mrs. Alma Thomas, Portland, Oregon; and brother Edgar Smith, McCredie, Mo.; and four grandchildren. Funeral arrangements, under the direction of the Edwards Funeral home, are incomplete.

Funeral service for Marshall C. Smith, 68-year old resident of 725 North Greenwood Avenue who died Tuesday, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Edwards chapel with Rev. Charles E. Cathey, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Forest Park cemetery with the Belle Point Masonic Lodge conducting the grave side service.

His father was Granville Hudson SMITH (1845-1918) and his mother was Sarah Leah "Sallie" SIMCOE (1845-1907). Granville and Sallie were married 3 Apr 1873 in Callaway County MO. Marshall Canada SMITH died on Tuesday, 25 Nov 1947 and buried on Friday, 28 Nov 1947 at the Forest Park cemetery in Fort Smith AR. When Marshall was about 32, he moved to the Fort Smith AR area. In Dec 1936, he was living in nearby Arkoma OK. In Apr 1937, he was living in nearby Barling AR. His wife was named Pearl, and she may have been previously married. Pearl Smith was born Pearl Mae STUBBLEFIELD on 30 Jan 1894 in nearby Russellville, Pope Co. AR and died Feb 1972 in Fort Smith, Sebstian Co. AR. Her father was Will STUBBLEFIELD and mother was Sarah BURTON.
