  Military Service: General in General Price's Army Margaret Lutz had the following notes for "General Thomas William Slack". It appears she combined the names of two of the sons and I'm not sure who the notes actually apply to. Will put these notes under both Thomas and William....TMShort II Forth and youngest son. A lawyer, was a General in Gen. Sterling Price's army. Wounded twice and died from these wounds. Was a legislator from Livingston Co., Mo. At the wedding of his cousin Thomas Howe Caldwell to Kitty Ann Ely, he met their cousin Eliza Riley and they were married less than a year later. Moved to Ft. Worth, Texas. Lived Ft. Worth, Texas. He was the cousin of Thomas Caldwell, son of Polly Caldwell and John Slack of Kentucky who moved to Boone Co., Mo.
