- Death of Mrs. Mary Rupert
Mrs. Mary C. Rupert, aged 71 years, a native Callawegian and one of the old residents of Ham's Prairie, died at her home there at 5:00 o'clock Wednesday morning. The immediate cause of her death was kidney trouble, from which she had been suffering a long time.
Mrs. Rupert was a daughter of the late James B. Moore, one of the pioneer citizens of St. Aubert township. She was married to M.C. Rupert, who preceded her in death in 1879. One daughter, Mrs. J.W. Ratekin, the only child of the couple, died several years ago. Mrs. Rupert is survived by two brothers and two sisters, C.S. (Kip) Moore, of Mokane; Wharton Moore, of California; Mrs. Nannie Childres, of Callifornia, and Mrs. Elizabeth Berry, of Columbia; also four grandchildren - Misses Mary, Maggie, Oleta and Mabel Ratekin, of Fulton.
