    • Jessie Margaret Craghead, 86, of Sutherland, Neb., and formerly of Greeley and North Platte, Neb., died Saturday, July 30, at the Sutherland Care Center in Sutherland.

      She was born Oct. 21, 1918, in Brady to Evan E. and Jessie L. Jones Frates.

      She moved with her family to Brule in 1928 and graduated from Brule High School in 1936.

      On June 13, 1941, she married Elmer B. Craghead and they lived in Denver before moving to Greeley a year later.

      She worked at Del Monte's Cannery while her husband was in the service. She also worked as a nurse's aide at the Greeley hospital, where she retired in 1972. She went to school to become an LPN but was unable to finish as illness prevented it. She moved to North Platte in 1984 where she resided until she went to the Sutherland Care Center in 2000.

      Mrs. Craghead enjoyed working as a nurse's aide; embroidering; playing cribbage, Canasta and rummy; and traveling with her friends.

      Survivors are a son, Earl E. and wife Tena Craghead of North Platte; a brother, Norman Frates of Brule; four grandchildren, Patricia and husband Roger Brackett of Maxwell; Jodi Craghead and Lori Post of Salt Lake City, E. Shane and wife Brenda Craghead of North Platte and Melissa and husband Jeff Stryker of Bellevue, Neb.; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Leandra, Ryan, Cheyenne, Tucker and Colten; and numerous nieces and nephews.

      Her parents, a sister, Marjorie A. Lookabill, and daughter-in-law, Sheryl Craghead, are deceased.

      A memorial has been established in her name. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Adams and Swanson Chapel in North Platte, Neb. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.

      Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home.
