Notes |
- Information from a descendant of John Frederick William Spaunhorst:
August 25, 1896, Doctor Spaunhurst was married to Miss Harriet S. Miller, who was educated at the State Teachers College at Kirksville, Missouri, her birthplace. Mrs. Spaunhurst was a well-known figure in club life, and belonged to the Woman's Club and the Monday Club. She was a poetess of more than local repute, was past president of the Monday Club and matron musicale. The diversity of her talents is shown in the fact that she had set a number of her poems to music. The death of this talented, beloved lady occurred July 31, 1923, at the age of fifty-one years, at the family residence, 4631 Boulevard Place, Indianapolis. Her untimely demise was mourned by her numerous friends as well as by her immediate family. There were no children.
