    • He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Hodges of Holts Summit and Gloria Hodges of Ashland; one son, Homer Backer of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; one brother, Harold Backer of Fulton; one sister, Dorothy Guerrant of Fulton; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
      Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit.
      Services will be at 2 p.m., Fri., Sept. 2, at Union Hill Baptist Church in Holts Summit, Brother Frank Whitney and Rev. Jim Shaver of Providence Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Summit Memorial Park.
