- Alex. Henderson was a merchant at Mt. Carmel, Ky. The Harts are well represented in Kentucky life. Susanna Hart, daughter of Nathaniel Hart, m Isaac Shelby. Hon. Carter Harrison, ex-mayor of Chicago, was also of this line. Lucretia Hart, wife of Henry Clay, was descended from Thomas Hart. John and Benjamin Hart, artists, and Lieut.-Gov. Archibald Dixon, senator and author of the Kansas-Nebraska Bill, were of David Hart's line. Nathaniel, Thomas and David were actively associated with Judge Richard Henderson in the organization of the Transylvania Company.
