Mrs. John G. Berry
Mrs. John G. Berry, 72 years old, of whose death last Thursday a short mention was made in last week's Gazette, was a native of Callaway county. She was a daughter of Reuben B. and Sarah Simcoe and was born in the Richland neighborhood, north of Fulton.
Her marriage to John G. Berry, who survives her, took place March 7, 1861. Besides her husband, she is survived by the following children; Mrs. Alfred Guy, Vandalia; Mrs. J.P. Harrison, McCredie; Mrs. O.B. Suggett, Blythville, Ark.; Dr. A.E. Berry, Tampa, Fla.; Ray Berry, Nevada, Mo.; Mrs. E.E. Palmer, Mrs. Fannie Cole and F.M. Berry, Fulton; Mrs. William E. Nicolson and Jeter Berry, who live on the home place. Also the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Lucy Herring, Mrs. Mary Herring, and C.C. Simcoe, Fulton; Mrs. Harriett Sacre, St. Louis; Mrs. R.A. Wright, Calwood; D.S. Simcoe, Centralia; John F. Simcoe and James Simcoe, Thompson. Eighteen grandchildren also survive.
The funeral services were held at 11:00 o'clock Saturday morning at Ebenezer Baptist church, northeast of Fulton, Rev. J.A. Taylor, of Fulton officiating. Burial occurred in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Berry was one of the old-fashioned, hospitable women and at her home the latchstring was always on the outside. She reared a large family of children, some of whom have taken prominent places in the world, and all attest the careful home training they received.
The Berry home was noted for its hospitality, and especially in the younger days of Mrs. Berry and her children social events took place that are still remembered by those who participated. Mrs. Berry was a deeply religious woman and had been a church member for 40 years. Mr. Taylor, in his seermon Saturday, feelingly referred to this commendable trait in her character.
The death of Mrs. Berry occurred suddenly. She had been active all her life and had experienced only the common ills that come in life. She had not been well Wednesday, but went about her work. Thursday morning she suddenly became very sick and word was sent to Fulton for a doctor. She passed away before he reached the house. Mrs. Berry was mending a coat when the death summons came. | Sarah Ann Simco

Addie was the second wife of Charles Sartor, his first wife was Addie's 1st cousin, Susie Herring, daughter of Nathan Herring.
It appears that Emma and Addie lived together their whole lives. They shared a house while married, and when I met them in the late 1950's and early 1960's in Fulton, they were still together.
Emma and Addie were 1st cousins of my grandmother Jo Carter Herring. I knew them when I was a child. | Addie M Sitton

Not positive she is a daughter of Ezra Sittton, his children's age marks on 1840 census are not very accurate, but she doesn't fit on any other Sitton's 1840 census, and she does fit within the ages of Ezra's family. Speculation.
