He was born April 10, 1922, in Callaway County, a son of Paris S. and Beulah Vesta Guerrant Sampson. He was married Feb. 4, 1947, in Fulton, to Lucy Mildred Roberts, who survives at the home.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a laboratory technician at A.P. Green until his retirement in 1984.
He was a member of Southside Baptist Church, Fulton.
Other survivors include: three sons, Edwin Wesley Sampson, Grandview, Kerry Reid Sampson, Blue Springs, and Robert Dexter Sampson, Fulton; one brother, Clark Sampson, Fulton; one sister, Louise Hardin, Fulton; and two grandsons.
One son, David Sampson, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Ron Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.

9059 Mrs. Zealia Holt Dies on Monday
Passed Away Suddenly at Callaway Hospital on Day She Expected Dismissal
Mrs. Zelia Holt, 53 years old, widow of Curtis Holt, died suddenly at 8:30 Monday morning at the Callaway Hospital in Fulton, she had undergone an operation a week ago and apparently was recovering rapidly. She expected to be dismissed from the hospital Monday afternoon.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Boydsville Christian Church by the Rev. Dr. W. Garnet Alcorn, pastor of the Fulton church. Burial in Boydsville cemetery.
Mrs. Holt was a daughter of W.B. and Roxana Robison Sampson. She was born June 3, 1884 on a farm north of Carrington and spent much of her life in that community. She was married December 18, 1906, to Curtis Holt, who died in 1925 from injuries received when he was kicked by a horse.
Mrs. Holt and sons moved to Fulton after the death of her husband and three years ago moved to Columbia. She was a member of the Boydsville Christian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Clifford and Clayton Holt, and four brothers: Ernest E. Sampson and Rolla R. Sampson of Fulton; Montie Sampson of Muskogee, Okla,; and Roy Sampson of Oklahoma City, Okla. A sister, Mrs. H.J. King, died several weeks ago.
Friends of the family extend sincere sympathy in this hour of bereavement.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Bell Reno, who died at St. Mary's Hospital, Friday night, will be held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Thorpe J. Gordon Funeral Home. Rev. Guthrie S. Birkhead, pastor of the Capitol Avenue Church will conduct the services and burial will be at Guthrie, Mo. in Callaway county. Pallbearers will include T.H. Weier, L.D. and Ollie Thompson, Roy Clatterbuck, Stokes Waggoner and Walter Wheeler.

His first marriage was to Ebenezer Herring's daughter, Susan E. Herring. Susan Herring and his second wife, Addie Sitton were 1st cousins.

Charles Sartor 2nd marriage was to Addie Sitton. Addie's sister Emma and her husband Millard Thurston all lived together. Addie was 1st cousin 2x removed. I met both Addie and Emma when I was a child.

Being Entertained in Chicago
C.E. Sartor and Art. Brigleb, Fulton grocers, are being entertained in Chicago this week as the guests of Dan Holmes, a travelling representative of Sprague, Warner & Company. The policy of the company is to entertain one customer of the firm from each town in its territory several days in the year, but for some reason two were invited from Fulton this year. Mr. Sartor and Mr,. Brigleb expect to reutrn Friday.

9073 Christian Sartor, 86, Dies Friday Night
Callaway Native Had Been Seriously Ill For About A Week
Christian Albert Sartor, 86, native and life-long resident of Callaway County, died Friday night about 10:00 o'clock at his farm home about one mile south of Fulton. He had been seriously ill for about a week.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Wallace Funeral Home. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery. His nephews served as pallbearers.
He was born on December 25, 1863, in Fulton, the son of the late Louis Henry and Catherine Berghauser Sartor. He was married to the former Miss Bertha Roberts on Oct. 17, 1889. Mrs. Sartor died in 1892.
He had lived on the farm with his daughter, Mrs. Ray Willet and Mr. Willet. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include Mrs. Willet and a sister, Mrs. Mary Meloy of Jefferson City. One child, two brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.

Mrs. Irene Willitt, of Fulton, his daughter, signed his death certificate. She gave Catherine Berghouser as his mother. On all census records, his mother's name is Mariah E. On his mother's death certificate, it says her name is Mary Carin Berghauser.. His death certificate also says he was buried in Hillcrest cemetery, Fulton. He may have been, his wife was originally buried somewhere else (possibly Hillcrest) and moved to Callaway Gardens. He is buried in Callaway Gardens also.

Found the announcement of a new cemetery to be built (this would be Callaway Memorial Gardens) in the newspaper right next to his obituary. The cemetery was still in the planning stages at the time of his death, His obit says he was buried in Hillcrest. We found their headstones in Callaway Mem. Gardens

9078 Donald H. Sartor, 69, of Tebbetts died Monday, April 18, 1988, at the Memorial Community Hospital in Jefferson City.
Mr. Sartor was born April 25, 1918, in Fulton, a son of David and Jessie Hughes Sartor. He married Mary G. Zeni of Du Quoin, Ill., on Jan. 8, 1944, in St. Louis. She survives at the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Donald Sartor of St. Louis and Richard Sartor of Jefferson City; a daughter, Mary Sue Hilger of Troutville, Va.; five grandchildren, a sister, Frances Tucker of Fulton; and a great aunt, Mrs. Ada Belle DetWuierier of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Mr. Sartor was a graduate of Fulton High School and was quarterback of the Hornets from 1933 to 1936. He was also on the track team. He graduated from Westminster College in 1941 and was on the Westminster track team. He earned a master's degree from the University of Missouri in columbia in 1943. He was employed as a chemical engineer for 31 years by Monsanto Co., at Sauget, Ill. He served with the U.S. Navel Reserve with the rank of lieutenant junior grade.
Mr. Sartor was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fulton and was a founding member of the greater St. Louis Archeological Society.
Private funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with the Rev. Charles Donnell officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton. No visitation is scheduled.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
