Miss Mary Ratekin, daughter of former County Treasurer James W. Ratekin, died this week at the home of her sister in Fulton. She had been in ill health for about a year. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Fulton and burial took place in Hillcrest cemetery. Miss Ratekin was born on a farm in the Ham's Prairie community, and lived in that part of the county for a number of years. She received an extensive education in Missouri and Oklahoma and had taught in Callaway county and Oklahoma for the last 23 years. She is survived by her father and three sisters, all of Fulton. | Mary R. Ratekin

Old Crain Graveyard located on Highway 111, between Popular Plains and Hillsboro. Most of the headstones have been destroyed. This graveyard was canvassed by William M. Talley in 1950.
This graveyard, which has been destroyed since it was copied in early 1950, was located on the farm of Cornelius Turner, about one and a half miles from Poplar Plains on the Hillsboro Road. The farm was owned by Jimmy Day at one time. Part of these stones were copied by Mrs. Leo Royse in the late 1940s and the others were copied by William M. Talley in November 1950, the day before the blizzard came.

In "The Holeman Family of Kent Co., Maryland and Woodford Co., Kentucky: A Preliminary Study Version #10 8 April 1993" by William J. Utermohlen, he says on page 22, that A James and Robert Rennick both left wills in Woodford County kentucky between 1789 and 1837.
There are two different parent sets for James Rennick/Renick in LDS Parent search. William Renick and Ann Hamilton, and William Renick and Mary Dugan. The pair that has a son Robert are William Renick and Ann Hamilton. Ruby Rae (Renner) Bryan, 91 of New Bloomfield, passed away Thursday July 7, 2011 at Oak Tree Villas in Jefferson City to rejoin the love of her life, Martin.
She was born December 24, 1919 in Fulton the daughter of Frank H. Renner and Cornelia (Miller) Renner.
She married F. Martin Bryan on October 31, 1941. He preceded her in death in April of 2011. They enjoyed 69 plus wonderful years together.
Ruby graduated from Fulton High School in 1938. Her freshman year she helped organize the "Lucky 13" club and in her Junior year, 1937, she was chosen Miss Callaway County.
Ruby was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was well known for her immaculate house keeping and her wonderful cooking, (especially her fried pies) and enjoyed ballroom dancing.
Ruby was always volunteering to help in classrooms and on field trips for her children and even for two of her grandchildren when they were in school.
Ruby was a member of the Providence Baptist Church, the New Bloomfield Lions Club, and the New Bloomfield Area Historical Society.
Ruby will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children, Dr. J. Kent Bryan and wife Tolly of Melbourne, Fl., M. Renner Bryan and wife Becky of Liberty, Susan Craighead of Holts Summit, six grandchildren, Bobbi Baysinger and husband David of Fulton, Brett Craighead and wife LeAnn of New Bloomfield, Jerry Bryan of South Carolina, James Bryan and wife Kari of Vancouver, British Columbia, Jason Bryan and wife Katrina of St. Louis and Kyla Leiboult and husband Matthew of Independence; 11 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Renner and wife Ona of Springfield; one sister-in-law, Helen Alu of St. Louis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Her family wants to thank the nurses, aides, and staff at Oak Tree Villas and Capital Region Medical Center for the wonderful and loving care she received. We are so grateful for your care, love and compassion.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, at the Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit with Reverend Jim Shaver officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 11, from 5-7 p. m. at the funeral home in Holts Summit. | Ruby Rae Renner

I James Rennick of woodford County and State of Kentucky calling to mind the certainty of Death of and uncertainty of life do make constitute and appoint this my last will and testament revoking any other will or wills heretofore made First as to what mortaly estate I possess I dispose of in the following manner that is to say I lend unto my beloved wife Mary Rennick the tract of land whereon I live containing one hundred acres likewise all my stock of every description also all my household furniture during her natural life Secondly my will and desire is that my two daughters Lyddia Rennick and Margaret Rennick shall peacaby possess said plantation stock and furniture and in common with their mother as long as they continue single or unmarried and if said daughter remain single or unmarried after my wifes decease my will and desire is they shall still peacably possess said land with all its appertainances as likewise the stock and house hold furniture during their natural life and if said daughters should marry my will and desire is that each daughter may have one third part of the stock and household furniture to her and her heirs forever and after my wifes decease said two Daughters is to possess all the stock and household furniture that my wife is in possession of at her death. Secondly I do direct and bequeath to my Black woman Ester one Feather Bed with a peace of white linen in the [?ick] with one one (sic) quilt one coumb [?i?] a [Hak] and [Toe] Sheet and yarn sufficient to make one Blanket and sd Black Woman to have the care of my children being as my executors sees proper to Continue them together and then my daughter Polly to live with my sister Peggy Renise (Renick?) . NOTE: Mary's husband Uriah Jones' will was written November 19, 1806 and was recorded in the January Court 1807, on this same page, below Mary's will. It appears that he died before Mary. Mary's father, James Rennick, wrote his will on Jan. 3, 1807, and in it he referred to daughter Mary Jones as deceased.

Renoe, Alexander B., son of H.E. & P., d. 12 Sep 1862, aged 27 yrs, 1 m, 26 das listing from Renoe cemetery, near Guthrie, Callaway Co., Missouri.
During the year 1862, a company of Confedearate soldiers camped near his father's house; one or two men went to the housae, ordered young Renoe and a negro man to take a load of corn to the camp. Renoe's father in accordance with an order issued by a man signing himself as A. Krekel, with headquarters at the Sate Insane Asylum in Fulton, requiring men to report the presence of rebels, etc., the next morning went to Fulton to report the rebels camped near his residence. The commander at Fulton had already heard of the fact, and had sewnt a company of soldiers to Renoe's home. Mr. Renoe was returning home from Fulton, when he met the company of Union soldiers who had been to his home. He discovered the men were leading one of his own horses, with a saddle on and further noticed a they pasted him that the saddle was bloody. He continued in the direction of his home, when after proceediing a short distance, he discovered the body of his son lying in a fence corner. He learned from parties who were working in a field, opposite the place the body laid, that the soldiers had shot him" | Alexander Renoe
