Robert Holt Bedsworth
Robert Holt Bedsworth, 36, died unexpectedly late yesterday afternoon at his home on Route 4, Fulton.
Bedsworth, who made his home with his mother, Mrs. Maude E. Bedsworth, became ill yesterday morning and had remained in bed. His mother said she went to another of their farms in the area, with a neighbor, to feed the livestock and when she returned, she found her son dead. Bedsworth had not been seriously ill prior to yesterday, but had told his mother he thought he had heart trouble.
He was born January 16, 1930, in Callaway County, the son of Mrs. Bedsworth and the late Wm. G. Bedsworth, Sr. He served in the Marines in the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Agriculture.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, Wm. G. Bedsworth, Jr., of Chicago.
Services will be conducted at the Browning Funeral Home on Monday, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Jerry Anderson will officiate.

They were living at the poor farm.
She died in the State Hospital, they had no records of her actual birth date or parents names. The place of burial is only listed as Kirksville, Missouri. They did list her husband as Ben Cason. She was a widow at the time of her death. I believe Kirksville was one of the places the State Hospital sent unclaimed bodys for science. Her name was listed as Lucinda instead of Malinda, but the State Hospital quite often did not keep accurate records. | Malinda Bell

Ovid K Bell 24, June 1875, newspaper reporter
Ovid Bell Press, Fulton, Missouri
He was born near Reform, Missouri, in Callaway county. His occupation listed on his death certificate was printing and publishing business. He lived at 825 Court Street, Fulton, Missouri at the time of his death, he died at home. His son, Ovid Bell, gave the information for his death certificate.
He assumed the debt of the newspaper's ill owner and took over as the new owner of the Fulton Gazette newspaper in 1901.
Bell converted the Gazette from a weekly to a daily newspaper. In 1911 Bell constructed the building that now houses the Fulton Sun newspaper.
But eventually Bell reached the conclusion that Fulton was not large enough of a city to support two newspapers. He then sold the Fulton Gazette in 1927 to the owners of the Fulton Sun, creating the Fulton Sun-Gazette, which later evolved into the Fulton Sun. He then started the Ovid Bell Press, which is still a large company in Fulton, run by his grandson, in 2009. | Ovid Keen Bell
