8251	Robert Lee "Bob" Pasley, 97, of Fulton, died Sunday June 15, 2008, at the Pin Oaks Nursing Center in Mexico, MO. He was born July 24, 1910 in Bachelor, MO, the son of the late Ira Lee and Lucy D. (Covington) Pasley. On December 29, 1945 he married Dorothy Rentschler in Fulton. She preceded him in death on September 3, 2007. He is survived by one sister-in-law, Pearl Stephens of Mexico; two nephews, John Stephens and his wife Ida Mae of Mexico and Glen Stephens and his wife Rebecca of Thompson; and several great nieces and nephews. He attended Harrison-Yates grade school; one year at Fulton High, graduated from Auxvasse High School, and attended Westminster College. Robert served his country in the Army during World War II, being stationed at Ft. Knox, Ky, State of California, Japan, and the Phillipean Islands. He was present on a ship next to the USS Missouri when the Peace Treaty was sign by Japan. After returning from service, Robert began the Pasley Dairy, which he ran for over 25 years. Pasley Dairy was the last dairy in Callaway County to do home delivery. He also was a member of the Farm Bureau and Water District #2 and served on both boards for over 25 years. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday June 18, 2008, at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson and Pastor Martin Stukenborg officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. 8252	At first I thought he was a son of Henry C. Pasley and Mary Lucinda Potts, they had a son named Robert Lee Pasley, born about 1908. But his obituary lists his parents as Ira Lee and Lucy D. (Covington) Pasley. From the History of Callaway county, 1984 book: Bob was born in Callaway County, Bachelor, Missouri, the only child of Ira Lee Pasley and Lucy Dillard Covington. Bob's father and mother were born in Callaway County in 1875. Bob attended Westminster College. Bob worked in a grocery store, sold General Motor cars and trucks, and served in the army for three years (1942-1945). He owned and operated a dairy farm until 1969. Since then he has operated as a livestock and grain farmer. During this time he has been active in Callaway County Farm Bureau, ASC Committee, and has been active in the formation of the Callaway County Rural Water District No. 2; he is presently a board member of that district. On September 27, 1952, she married Donald Raps in Fulton, Mo. He preceded her in death. Goldie worked at the Shoe Factory for 27 years and at Fulton Manor Care Center for 17 years as a cook. She enjoyed dancing, attending the community center, sewing, and cooking. She is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Connie) Raps, David (Vanessa) Raps, James Raps; all of Fulton, Mo . and Marvin Raps of Roseville, Calif.; one daughter, Brenda (Vince) Buckner of Fulton, Mo .; one brother, Tommie Patrick of Fulton, Mo .; one sister, Dora Patrick of Hannibal, Mo .; 12 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. 8293	MRS. F. J. CRAIGHEAD DEAD Passed Away At Home On East 5th street, Thursday After A Long Illness Mrs. Frances Jane Craighead, 85 years old, died a 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon at her home on East Fifth street, after a lingering illness with a complication of diseases. Mrs. Craighead had not been in the best of health for a year or more, her decline being due to the infirmities of old age. She had been confined to her bed almost continuously since Christmas, and for the last week or two her life had hung by a narrow thread, her unusual vitality enabling her to survive as long as she did. Mrs. Craighead, whose maiden name was Payne, was a daughter of late William and Elizabeth Payne, natives of Virginia and Mrs. Craighead was born in that state March 3, 1831. She came to Callaway County with her parents when she was eight years old, the family settling on a farm in the Ham's Prairie neighborhood, where Mrs. Craighead grew to womanhood and where she was married in July 1853 to I. O. Craighead. The family lived in the Ham's Prairie neighborhood until the death of Mr. Craighead on June 29, 1899. Mrs. Craighead broke up housekeeping about Christmas that year and made her home with her children until she bought the residence property on East Fifth street, where her death occurred. Mrs. Craighead is survived by the following sons and daughters: Mrs. M. A. Howe, of St. Louis, Mrs. M. E. Gingrich and Mrs. J. L. Gingrich of Fulton, Mrs. E. F. Bush , of Webster Groves, J. D. Craighead of La Junta, CO, and Dr. E. B. Craighead of Washington D. C. Also three sisters, Mrs. Eliza Taylor and Mrs. J. W. Davis of Fulton and Mrs. James Payne of the U. B. neighborhood. Mrs. Craighead was a woman of splendid traits and was a wife and mother of endearing qualities. Her life had been spent unselfishly for the betterment of her family and friends and she was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. She had been a member of the Methodist church all her life and took an active part in tall church work until advancing age made such activity impossible. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Fulton at 2 o'clock, Sunday afternoon and burial was in the family burying grounds at Ham's Prairie. Rev. W. L. Scarborough officiating.
