829 John Beaven - Miss Susan W. Herndon 26 Oct 1876 C446

There is a possible conflict with his parents. This John T. Beaven might have died before 1860. The wife and children might belong to another John T. Beaven, born the same time, but to possibly a brother of Zadock Beaven, Theadore Beaven. I find very conflicting records on this. For the time being until I find more information, I am leaving all this information with John T. Beaven, son of Zadock Beaven.

He later was elected probabte judge of Callaway county and served 12 years in this office. He later served the tenth senatorial district of the state in the upper chamber of the legislature in two sessions.
About four years ago, Judge Beaven went to Jefferson City where he accepted a position with the state highway department, resigning las fall because of ill health. He then went to Independence, Mo., to live with his son.

A man of unusual ability and sterling character, Judge Beaven endearing himself to the people of central Missouri and more than justified the trust and recognition accorded him by them. 841 William C. Beaven Dead
William C. Beaven died last Sunday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Sparks, northwest of Mokane, after a brief illness with appendicitis, and was buried at the United Brethren churchyard, south of Fulton, on Monday, after funeral services conducted by Rev. W.A. Fite, pastor of the Fulton Christian church, assisted by Revend Purvis, of the United Brethren church.
The deceased was following his trade of carpenter when taken ill at the Sparks home, Saturday, and the death summons came while he was yet in the agony of the ailment, skilled medical assistance and tender nursing failing to alleviate his suffering.
He was 44 years of age and is survived by his wife and four little daughter, Oleta, Mary, Wilma, and Bessie, besides his mother, Mrs. F.I. Beaven, of Hams Prairie, three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Pinet and Mrs. Edna Harris, of Tebbetts neighborhood, and Mrs. Lou Stewart, of Jefferson City; also by three brothers, Judge S.P. Beaven, of Fulton, and Theodore and Carl Beaven, of Ham's Prairie.
He was a man of few words, quiet and inobtrusive in manner, but of forceful character and uncompromising honesty. In his work as a builder of barns over the county he was recognized not only as a skilled carpenter, but as one whose plans were always carefully considered and thoroughly matured, and he always did better than he promised. His uprightness and manliness bound friends to him with hoops of steel and few men are more universally esteemed than he was. The large gathering at the graveside to pay him the last respects, on Sunday, is a heritage his wife and little girls will cherish in the years to come, for it was a sincere tribute to his worth. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of all.

In 1840 Barnett Beavers is listed in the Southern Division, Green Co., KY, but not in 1850.
Barnett Beavers

845 1860, living with brother Robert and family, and her mother and brother William and sister Sarah, in Audrain Co., Missouri.

In 1870, she is married to Robert Todd Powell. Living with this family at that time was her mother, and his nephew Bascomb Powell. 5 years later, Bascomb Powell married Nancy Carter, Eliza Powell's half-niece. (daughter of John G. Carter) Both of these families eventually went to California.
Also in 1870 there was an Eliza Smith living with this family.

This family was living in California by 1880

In 1900, Eliza Kincaid and son, listed as niece and grand nephew, are living with this family. This is probably the Eliza Smith from 1870. The year of birth is Aug. 1864, Missouri. Her son was born in Dec. 1880 in Missouri. She is divorced. I haven't found a Smith connection to Robert Powell, so perhaps she is the daughter of Eliza's sister Sarah. I do not have a marriage for her yet so don't know if she married a Smith.

In 1910, Eliza Kincaid is still living with them.
