Mrs. Addie Ashworth Dead
Aged Woman of Carrington Expired in Her Bed - Was Widow of First Alton Agent at Village.
Mrs. Addie Ashworth, about 70 years old, was found dead in her bed at her home in Carrington just before noon Saturday, she being the third aged resident of the village to die within a space of 48 hours. She lived to herself in part of her residence and the remainder was occupied by a family named Patterson. Members of the family heard her at her stove during the early morning. The other old people of the village to die in less than two days were T.R. Brooks and Mrs. T.H. Wilkerson.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Carrington Baptist church, the Rev. W.G. Alcorn, of this city, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ashworth was a daughter of Charles Meng, a Callaway pioneer who lived near Holt Summit, where she was born. Her husband, the late M.P. Ashworth, was agent for the Chicago and Alton railroad at Carrington from the time the road was build until his death in 1906. Two sons, Meng, agent of the Alton and Marshall, this state, and Oren, claim agent of the Alton at Bloomington, Ill., are living. Two step-sons also are living, they being Ivan, a hotel man living at Moberly, and Burnham, of Montana.
Mrs. Ashworth was a member of the Boydsville Christian church. She was a woman of many fine virtues and was universally loved in the section in which she lived. The Gazette, with other friends, sympathize with those who mourn her death. | Addie Adaline Meng

Fulton Gazette
March 31, 1911
An Old-Time Gazette Reader.
Thomas Meredith, aged 90 years, living on rural route 5, west of Fulton, was a visitor in this city Friday and called at the Gazette office. He has been a reader of this paper for many years and still finds keen enjoyment in persuing its pages. His eyesight failed him about a year ago, and for almost a year it was necessary for him to have someone read his favorite paper to him. This condition has improved so much of late that he is again able to do his own reading.
Mrs. Meredith, who is 81 years old, has been sick since Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Meredith form one of the oldest couples in the county and Mr. Meredith says he has his mark set at 100 years. He eats well, sleeps well, and does not feel nearly so old as his years indicate. He also continues to do his share of work. "I have been hitched to work for many years and don't propose to break the team until it becomes absolutely necessary," he said. Milk is his favorite drink and he consumes much of the lacteal fluid during each day. | Thomas Merideth

Oldest Callawegian Dead.
Thomas Merideth, nearly 92 years old, probably the oldest native citizen of Callaway county, died of pneumonia at his home, four miles west of Fulton, Tuesdday night. He contracted la grippe about a week ago and the disease ran into pneumonia. Until recently he had been fairly active, his age considered.
Funeral services were conducted at Prairie Chapel Methodist church, of which he was a member, Thursday morning, and burial was in the church cemetery. The funeral was preached by the Rev. C.B. Duncan, pastor of the Fulton Methodist church.
Mr. Merideth was born in this county of February 9, 1821, and spent his whole life in the county. He was married 56 years ago to Miss Mary Tatum, of this city, who survives. Shortly after his marriage he moved to the farm west of Fulton where he resided until two years ago, when he moved onto a smaller place adjoining.
Mr. Merideth was successful in his farming operations and accumulated a small fortune. He was industrious and honorable and had the friendship of all who knew him. The sympathy of many goes out to his life companion in her bereavement. | Thomas Merideth

By 1934 she was married, and was mentioned in her father's obit as Mrs. Percy Creacy.
By 1947 they lived in Mexico, Missouri. She signed her mother's obituary and gave her address as 608 S. Cole, Mexico, Missouri
She may have been Julia Meyeratto, born in 1887, but I think she was probably a younger daughter of Charles Meyerotto. I cannot find that family on a census after 1900, should was probably born around 1900 or 1901. So I do know who her parents were, but not her first name. Her sister married John Franklin Herring. | Unknown Meyerotto
