Mrs. Rebecca Herring Dead.
Mrs. Rebecca Herring, 84 years old, widow of William J. Herring, died of the infirmities of old age at her home at the corner of East Ninth and Center street, this city, last Friday evening. Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday afternoon by Rev. T.E. Winter and burial was in the new cemetery.
Mrs. Herring was a daughter of William Knight of Kentucky, who was among the early settlers in Callaway county. She was born in Callaway county on July 12, 1827, and was married to Mr. Herring on September 16, 1848. He died May 22, 1905. To them were born four children, three of whom are living now, namely: Mrs. J.N. Hook, of Fulton; Silas W. Herring, southwest of Fulton, and Mrs. George Baskett, of Chicago.
Mrs. Herring was a member of the Fulton Christian church 61 years, and was the oldest member of the church at the time of her death. She was received and baptized into the church by Rev. Absalom Rice, a pioneer minister. She lived a life of usefulness and service and was a veritable mother of Israel. Many there are besides the immediate family and relatives who mourn her passing. | Rebecca Ann Knight

Mrs. A.J. Williamson Dead
Mrs. Barbara Williamson, 75 years old, wife of Andrew J. Williamson, formerly a Fulton shoe merchant, died at Guthrie early Monday morning after a long illness with stomach trouble. Her death occurred at the home of Claude Smith where she was taken some weeks ago on her return from St. Louis, where she received medical treatment. Funeral services were conducted at the Fulton Baptist church Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. C.A. Mitchell, of Mexico, and burial was in the new cemetery.
Mrs. Williamson's maiden name was Barbara Kyger and she was born in southwest Callaway. Her marriage to Mr. Williamson occurred about forty-five years ago. The husband and two sons are living, the latter being the Rev. Dr. William J. Williamson, pastor of the Third Baptist churc of St. Louis, and Louis K. Williamson, a traveling salesman of Kansas City.
Six brothers and one sister are also living. They are Morgan J., David H., George W., Peter, THomas S., and Miss Annie Kyger of this county, and Louis Kyger of Jasper county.
Mrs. Williamson was a gentle motherly woman. Her life was lived quietly and she gave the best she had to her family. Her sons - one a distinguished minister doing a large work, and the other a successful businessman - are living testimony of her goodness. The Gazette extends sympathy to those who mourn her passing. | Barbara S. Kyger
