NOTE: Uriah's wife Mary Jones' will was written December 11, 1806 and was recorded in the January Court 1807, on this same page, above Uriah's will. The inventory and the sale of the estate are recorded in Harrison County February Court 1807, on pages, 72 and 73. The estate appraised for $429.91 and total sales were $448.87. 6316 John N. Judt Died Sunday Morning
Heart Trouble Caused Death of Fulton Merchant - Funeral Tuesday.
John Nathan Judt, one of Fulton's most substantial business men, died Sunday morning at 9:00 o'clock, at his home of West Seventh street, following an illness of about three weeks with heart trouble. Up to that time he had been in comparatively good health.
A funeral service will be held at the Presbyterian church, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conucted by the pastor, the Rev. Dr. E.F. Abbott, and burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery.
Mr. Judt was born in Fulton and had lived here all his life. He was a son of the late Lewis and Mary Elizabeth Judt. When quite a boy he entered the employ of Berghauser Hardware Company, and had been in the hardware business since then, establishing with the other two members the firm of Judt, Harris & Craghead in 1901. Later the other two partners purchased Mr. Craghead's interest, and the firm had since been known as the Judt-Harris Hardware Company.
Mr. Judt was married eight years ago to Miss Flora Six of Mattoon, Ill., and they would have celebrated their wedding anniversary next Sunday. Besides his wife he is survived by four sisters: Mrs. Mary Frances Forrestal and Misses Minnie and Suzie Judt, all of Fulton, and Mrs. J.W. Cumberland of Los Angeles, Calif.
Mr. Judt was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian church. He was of a quiet, unassuming disposition, but was held in the highest esteem by all his friends and acquaintances and had the respect of the entire community. Friends of the bereaved family extend to them much sympathy.

On 1870, Louis Christ, age 19, was living with this family, apprentice blacksmith. They also had a 20 yr old domestic servant.
I found a family living next door to Louis Judt in the 1870 census, named William Judt, also from Prussia or Germany. He was 47 years old and a cabinet maker. His wife was named Catherine, and they had one daughter at home, Amilia, age 17.

Administrator's Sale
Mr. W.E. Berghauser, administrator of the estate of Louis H. Judt, deceased, will sell on Monday, April 20, 1874, a lot of valuable blacksmith's tools.
Administrator's Sale
We call attention to the advertisement of W.E. Berghauser, administrator of the partnership estate of Judt & Jones. He will sell a lot of new plows, a new spring wagon, and a lot of blacksmith tools.

In the 1880 census, Mary E. listed as head of household. All children except Edith (Edna?) still at home.

In the 1890 census, I can only find the children John, Susan, and Minnie, living together in a house in Fulton.

1900 census, John, Susan, Minnie, Charles and Mary Forrestall, all living together. John is a clerk in a hardware store, Susan and Minnie both do millinery work, Charles draws a pension.

1910 census, John, Susan, Minnie, and Mary Forrestall living together in the house at 709 Nichols Street. Mary is a widow. John is a retail merchant, Minnie and Mary are dressmakers, Minnie is no longer working.

1920 census, all still living in the same house. John now is the proprietor of the hardware store, none of the ladies are working anymore. Living next door to the Judts are the Humphry Doerries family... the wife is Madora, daughter of Ebenezer Herring and Eliza Fletcher. She is the niece of Mary E. Herring Judt.

He is on the listing of Pioneer that was done in 1983. We did not find a headstone when we visited this cemetery in 2006.

I found a marriage record, Edward A. Mitchell Miss Minnie Judt 29 Mar 1897 G240. If this is our Minnie, she would have been 30 when she married. I find it hard to believe because her grave in Hillcrest has her name as Minnie Judt, no mention of a husband or different last name at all. She is also listed on the 1900 census as Minnie Judt, single. Her death certificate also lists her as single. If this was her, the marriage must have been annuled very soon after it happened and she was given her maiden name.
