Death of W.O. Johnson
William O. Johnson at his home in this city at 6:20 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1896.
Mr. Johnson had been suffering for about six years, but at the time of his death had been confined to his room but two weeks. Surrounded by sorrowing friends and relatives, his entrance into the other world was a peaceful as had been his life in this.
Willaim Otis Johnson was a son of Joseph Johnson of Franklin county, Va., and was born June 20, 1827. When he was ten years old his father moved to Callaway couny. November 9, 1848, he was married to Miss Mary A. Carter of Callaway and in 1850 he joined an overland party to Claifornia but remained there but a year. A few monts after his return he located in Audrain and has resided here since. In February, 1865, his wife died and on October 2, 1866, he married Miss Martha Dowell, of Monroe county, who died in 1880.
Mr. Johnson leaves eleven children (living), seven sons and four daughters: James J., J.R., G.N., A.P., W.W. and W.D.,all of this county and W.H. of Callaway county and Mrs. G.A. Lewis of this county and Misses Effie L., Ora A. and Mary M., all of this city.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Christian church, and had acceptably filled several positions of trust in this county and city. Funeral services will be held at Rising Sun church, five miles north of town, this afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. W.H. Hook. | William Otis Johnson

Cass Evans Jones, 87, of Kingdom City died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at his home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with the Rev. Mike Eighmy officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born Sept. 23, 1911, near Mokane to Herschel and Pearl Corley Jones.
He married Louise Atkinson on Jan. 15, 1936, and she survives.
He was a farmer and raised registered Angus cattle. He was a member of the McCredie United Methodist Church.
Survivors also include a son, Kenneth Jones of Kingdom City; two daughters, Aileen Keesling and Sherry Perkins, both of Columbia; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

They live in McCredie Township, two and one half miles west of Kingdom City, Missouri, on the John Atkinson home place. Cass was born in 1911 near Mokane, Missouri, the fourth child of Herschel and Pearl Corley Jones. Cass's parents were both born near Mokane, in 1883 and 1887, respectively.
Cass was a truck driver for Atkinson Brothers Truck Line back in the 1930's. He also started farming during the depression and later specialized in raising registered Angus cattle. His main hobby is fishing. Cass was named for Samuel Cass Ewens of Mokane, who raised Cass's father, Herschel Jones. Cass and Louise are both members of the McCredie United Methodist Church and have lived their entire lives in Callaway County. | Cass Evans Jones

Herschel Leroy Jones and Lola Mae Braham were married March 3, 1946 at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, Hatton Missouri.
They bought and have lived since their marriage on the former John Wyder farm on St. Charles Road, Bourbon Twp. 48N, section 4, range 10, Kingdom City, Missouri.
Leroy was born May 10, 1920 in Mokane, Callaway County, Missouri, the seventh child of Herschel Jones and Ollie Pearl Corley. Leroy's father and mother were born in 1883 and 1887 respectively, in Callaway county Missouri.
Leroy was serving in Germany in the Field Artillry, Army, when the end of the war came in the European Theater. After the war, he farmed for several years. For the last 25 years, he has been connected with the Dept. of Agriculture.
They are active members of the Pleasant Grove Methodist church at Hatton, Missouri.
