6158 "Isaac Marion Jacks was born in Clarke County, GA, 4 July 1832, the son of Jane Maxey and John Jacks.
He came to Coosa County, Alabama, with his parents in 1834, at the age of one and half years. He farmed in the Rockford area, buying property in 1857.
Isaac M. Jacks married three times in Coosa County. He married first, Elizabeth Hardigree, daughter of William and Leah Hardigree, 19 January 1853. His second wife was her sister, Jane Hardigree, whom he married on 29 Dec 1859. His third wife was Sarah Louisa Moseley, the daughter of Elizabeth Arnold Paschall and Thomas Archibald Moseley, whom he married 16 March 1871.
Isaac M. Jacks fought in the Civil War, enlisting 1 Sept. 1862. He was a private in Company K, 59th Regiment, Alabama Infantry, Gracey's Brigade. He was captured 17 June 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia, and imprisoned at Point Lookout, Maryland and Elmira, New York. He was released from the Elmira Union Prison on 19 May 1865 upon taking the Oath of Allegiance to the United States. He was in poor health from his imprisonment in the Elmira Union Prison.
When he went to war he left his second wife, Jane, alone with three small children. In 1863 his family is listed as one of the indigent soldier's families receiving county aid.
After the war, Isaac Jacks with his third wife, Sarah Louisa, moved his family to Texas, settling first in Ellis County. In 1889 they bought a farm near Vernon, Wilbarger County. He was a member of Camp W. L. Cable, No. 125, U. C. V.
He died 5 January 1906 in Vernon, Texas and was buried in East View Cemetery, Vernon. His third wife and six adult children survived him.

"Northwest toward Hatchett, from an early date several families of Millers owned farms, and these are still owned by their posterity. Near them was Mr. John Jacks, whose sons, Isaac and Sam, were a long time after him still in the county. Somewhat in the same section, but lower down the creek were the Hardegrees, Parishes, Williams Chancellor, and Wm. Bridges.(1)

was married in 1817 to Miss Mary A. James, who was born in Stafford county, Virginia, in 1793. They came to Callaway county, Missouri, as stated above, in 1835. Here they followed farming and lived until their deaths. They first bought 160 acres of land, and by industry so prospered that they became the. owners of nearly two sections of land. However, the wife died in September, 1845.
By his first wife he raised a family of seven children, as follows: Mary A., wife of James M. Davis, died in 1850; Kitty A., wife of Thomas H. Caldwell; Benjamin F., Erwin G., Sallie A., wife of L. H. Gibbs, of Boone county; Harriet T., who died the wife of J. W. Elley, of St. Louis, in 1877, and James H.

From the History of Callaway County Missouri, published in 1884, which is not always accurate:
James Jameson, of Virginia, married Lucy Hackney, by whom he had John, James, Thomas, David, William, Zachariah, Judith, Margaret and Nancy. Mr. Jameson moved to Kentucky in 1789. His eldest son, John, married Jalee Reeds, of Virginia, by whom he had James. Samuel, Thomas, John, Isaac N., Sarah, Lucy, Judith, Elizabeth and Amanda. Mr. Jameson emigrated to Callaway county in 1824. His son James lived and died in Kentucky. Samuel married Malinda Harris, and settled in Callaway county, where they had Tira H., James, Samuel, Sally A., Jalee, Minerva, Susan and Mary. Thomas Jameson was married, first, to Margaret V. Martin, and second to the widow of Philip George, whose maiden name was C. A. Sallee. Colonel John Jameson was born March 6, 1802. He possessed a superior order of mind, was an able speaker and reasoner, and was twice elected to Congress from his district. He wielded a large influence in that body, and ably represented his constituents. He died January 24, 1857. He married Susan Harris, and they had John H., Elizabeth, Sallie T. and Malinda R. Grace N. Jameson married Miss A. P. Smith, and died twenty-eight days after. Sarah married John Litton. Lucy married Nicholas Harper, and they had John, Albert, Thomas J., Sarah, Louisa, Elizabeth and Judith. Judith Jameson married Charles Yeater, and they had John, Joseph and Sarah. Elizabeth married Henry Wright, and they had Jameson and Jalee. All of the above settled in Callaway and Audrain counties.

He died in the Still-Hildreth sanitarium in rural Hudson, Macon Co., Missouri. He was a patient there for 4 years. His usual address was R.F.D. #3, Fulton, Missouri. He was never in the military. His usual occupation was farmer. He was a widow at the time of his death, the information on his death certificate was given by Mrs. Wm. Jatho of R.F.D. #3, Fulton, Missouri.

Funeral and Burial at Mount Carmel Tuesday Afternoon.
August Jatho, 88 years old, a native of Germany, died at his home, three miles southwest of Fulton, Monday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. He had been in declining health about a year.
Funeral and burial took place at Mount Carmel Methodist church, southwest of Fulton, Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. The services were in charge of the Rev. E.H. Hoefer, pastor of the Fulton Evangelical church, of which Mr. Jatho was a member.
Born at Dransfeld, Hanover, Germany, June 11, 1837, Mar. Jatho emigrated to the United States when he was 14 years old. He settled at Portland, this county, where he resided a few years, and then moved to a farm on Middle river, southwest of Fulton. He moved to the farm on which he died in 1865.
Mr. Jatho was married about the year 1857 to Miss Sophia Sartor, of this county. She died April 3, 1902. Six children born of this union are living, namely: Henry, Alfred, William, Miss Elizabeth and Mrs. E.P. Henderson, all of near Fulton, and Mrs. George Bezler, of Reform. A son, John, died about ten years ago.
Mr. Jatho joined the Evangelical church when he was a young man and was a faithful adherent to its tenets. He was one of the oldest members of Callaway lodge I.O.O.F., of this city, haven't been initiated July 2, 1866. He was awarded the lodge's gold medal for fifty years' continuous membership nine years ago.
Mr. Jatho was one of Callaway's finest German citizens. He was thrifty in the management of his own affairs, kindly and helpful in his dealings with others and upright in every relationship in his life. Those who are bereaved by his death have the sincere sympathy of the community in whih he lived so long.
