William Humphreys, aged 48 years, a deaf mute, died at the home of his brother-in-law, James Malone, in Oak street, at midnight Tuesday, after an illness of four days from what seemed to be a spinal trouble. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Thursday afternoon by Rev. C.B. Duncan and interment was in the old city cemetery.
He was born near Dixie, this county. Four sisters and one brother mourn his death. They are Mrs. James Malone and Mrs. J.M. Dillard, of Fulton; Mrs. Theodore Lockridge, of Farmington; Miss Alice Humphreys, of St. Louis, and George H. Humphreys, of New Bloomfield. | Elizabeth Humphreys

Mrs. W.W. Foster, 47 years old, died Friday morning at 4:30 o'clock at her home one mile south of Guthrie. Mrs. Foster's health began to fail about two years ago and since that time she grew gradually worse until her death, having been confined to her bed for the last six months. Her eye-sight also became affected and she had been totally blind for more than a year. She was taken to St. Louis and examined by specialists who discovered a growth at the back of the brain which is supposed to have caused her death.
Funeral services are to be held at Dry Fork Baptist Church, west of Guthrie, Saturday morning at 11:00 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. S.S. Keith, of Columbia, and burial will be in the cemetery of that church.
Mrs. Foster was born January 18, 1876 on a farm northeast of Guthrie and had spent practically her entire life in that neighborhood. Her maiden name was Ella Bennett Humphreys. She was educated in Fulton, attending high school here for four years. She was twice married, first to Boyd Clatterbuck, who died in 1913, and some years later to W.W. (Buck) Foster, who survives. Three children by the first marriage also survive: Miss Warrene Clatterbuck and Paul and Marvin Clatterbuck, all of whom live at home. One child by the second marriage, Elmo Foster, five years old, died about two months ago. Two brothers also are living: J.C. Humphreys, county superintendent of schools, and Egbert Humphreys, clerk of the Callaway county circuit court, both of Fulton.
Mrs. Foster had been a member of the Baptist church since young girlhood, and was a true Christian woman. Kindhearted, sympathetic and devoted to her family she will be greatly missed in her home circle and as well as by friends and acquaintances in the community in which she spent her life. Much sympathy is extended. | Ella Bennett Humphreys

Ella Bennett Humphreys was the daughter of James Warren Humphreys and Susan Bennett. She married 1. Boyd Leopard Clatterbuck on Dec. 7, 1898. They had four children: Warrene, Paul Hamilton, Elbern Keith and Marvin Bennett. She was widowed and she married 2. William Walter Foster on Nov 5, 1916 near Carrington. They had one son: Elmo Wilson Foster.
"She was member of the Dry Fork Baptist since girlhood and was a true Christian woman".
She died of a brain tumor at the age of 47. Her son, Elmo died just a few months before her death. | Ella Bennett Humphreys

Funeral services will be conducted at the First Christian Church in Fulton at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Dr. W. Garnet Alcorn officiating and burial will take place at Hillcrest cemetery.
Mrs. Hendrix was a daughter of William and Jane Nicolson Hunt and was born near the Old Auxvasse Presbyterian Church, being given the name of Malissa Jane Hunt at birth.
She was married in 1879 to John Hiram Hendrix and seven children were born to the union, six of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. Frederick Lewis Pond of New York City, Ralph N. Hendrix of St. Louis, Mrs. Paul C. Turner of Fulton, Samuel L (Nick) Hendrix of Fulton, William T. Hendrix of St. Louis and Marion Palmer Hendrix of Chicago. One child, Haley Wilkerson Hendrix preceded her in death.
Mrs Hendrix united with the Presbyterian church at the age of 12 years and joined the Christian church when she was married. She had always taken an active part in church work as long as her health permitted. Whe taught a Bible class of young men and women at Friendship Christian Church, in the eastern part of Callaway county, where she had made her home until ten years ago, when she moved to Fulton.
