6037 5:45 p.m. Samuel Henry Hudson

6038 From a History of Callaway County, 1884, which is not always accurate:
SAMUEL H. HUDSON, of section 3, and an energetic young farmer of this township, was the fifth in the family of five children of Henry Hudson and wife, nee Harriet Crank, both formerly of Halifax county, Virginia. They immigrated to this county in 1828, locating on a farm in Cedar township, where Samuel H. was reared, and where the father died in 1872. The others of the family of children were: Robert A., America, Hiram, John B., and Ada. On reaching manhood, Samuel H. Hudson engaged in farming on his own account, which he has since followed. He has also been giving considerable attention to stock raising and for a young man is regarded as one of the best judges of stock in this section of the township. Now only twenty-three years of age, he has, of course, not had time to make a career which requires a long biographical sketch, yet the character of man he has shown himself to be, and what he has already accomplished as a farmer, give unmistakable signs of a future of usefulness and no ordinary measure of success. There can be little doubt that if he is spared to reach the average age of successful men he will come to be one of the leading agriculturists and influential citizens of the township.

Signed his father-in-law's death certificate in 1929

His parents were Moss Henry Hudson of Virginia and Harriet Crank of Missouri. His address at the time of his death was 2 1/2 miles east of Ashland, Missouri.

His son, Charles Hudson, gave the information for his death certificate.
