Mrs. Samira Maud Herring, 32 years of age, died at her home in Kansas City, last Thursday, and was buried at Carrington cemetery on Friday, after funeral services by Revs. Egan Herdon and Brown. Probably buried in White Cloud cemetery, there are several unmarked graves there within the Hook family graves. His wife and several children are there.
His obit mentions his wife and 8 children left to mourn his death, however the 8th living child would have to had been a child by his 2nd wife and I find no record of a child by that wife. It is possible that she did have a child between 1870 and 1877, and that child died before the 1880 census. Zadok Hook only had 7 living children that I have records of at the time of his death. | Zadok Hook
