2 Fultonians Killed in Audrain County Crash
Two Fultonians and a Jefferson City resident were killed and six others injured in a head-on auto collision early today on Missouri Highway 19, north of the junction of 19 and U.S. 54 in Audrain County.
The dead are Jack Holt, 32, and Lloyd Frankel, 28, of Fulton, and Charles Coleman of Jefferson City.
Both cars were demolished. Holt's northbound car apparently swerved into the wrong lane and collided with Coleman's car, the Highway Patrol said. The injured were in Coleman's car.

James is credited with actually becoming the founder of what would later be called Holts Summit, though many relations assisted him in the effort.
The Holt family chose a vast tract of land approximately 20 miles southwest of Fulton to plant their roots. James worked several years in his father's mill, the experience enabling him to eventually pursue a successful professional career. James eventually married Lucy Reynolds, and together with his son, Timothy, constructed a general store, which also served as a post office. The store was named Holts Summit because it was the highest piece of land from "there to the river." Elijah and John, along with Perry Simeon Holts (John's son) all contributed to the eventual successful community development of Holts Summit.
