Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Edith P. Robinson at 2 p.m. Sunday at Browning Funeral Home.
Mrs. Robinson died Tuesday at Pittsburg, Calif. She was born Jan. 27, 1923 at Steedman, the daughter of Amos and Mattie Thorp Hampton.
A licensed practical nurse, she had lived in California for the past eight years.
She is survived by two sons, Albert Lee Powell, Centralia, and SSgt. Wendell R. Powell, Almagardo, N.M., four brothers, Oscar Hampton, New Bloomfield, James Hampton, Fultpm, Clifford Hampton, Mexico and Delbert Hampton, Fulton, three sisters, Mrs. Velma Boone, Mexico, Mrs. Sally Harriss, Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Hazel Wilmer, Forest Va., four grandchildren.
Burial will be at Steedman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stanley Harriss, Gary Boone, Ralph Hampton, Leslie Hudson, Larry Maddox and Delbert Hampton Jr. | Edith Powell Hampton

James Russell "Jim" Hampton, 83, Fulton, died Jan. 26, 2003, at Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton.
He was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Reform, a son of Amos L. and Martha Ann Tharp Hampton. He was married Oct. 27, 1945, in Fulton, to Hazel Jean Gathright, who survives at the home.
He worked as a field mechanic for the Missouri State Highway Department, retiring in 1985 after 29 years. He also operated his farm. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Other survivors include: three daughters, Deanna Hudson and Nina Hampton, both of Fulton, and Gwendolyn Jacobsen, Grand Forks, N.D.; two brothers, Delbert Hampton, Fulton, and Oscar Hampton, New Bloomfield; two sisters, Velma Rees and Sally Harris, Pittsburg; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Debo Funeral Home, Fulton. The Rev. Chellie McClatchey will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

Pearl Frances Douglas, age 82, of Fulton, died Friday, August 29, 2003 at Bethesda Southgate Manor in St. Louis.
She was born Oct. 4, 1920 in Callaway County, the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Ruth (Gathright) Hampton. On May 4, 1940, in Fulton, she married Dennis Backer Douglas.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Lee Douglas of Oakville, MO; one grandson, Jeffrey Douglas of St. Louis, MO; and one sister, Helen West of Fulton.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Mr. Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Fulton Resident Dies Yesterday
Thomas Monroe Hampton died yesterday afternoon at the Callaway Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born March 12, 1898 in Boone County, the son of James J. and Ella Culberson Hampton.
He was married to the former Miss Ruth Gathright, May 7, 1919, in Fulton where they lived mosst of their life. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in May, 1969.
Mr. Hampton was a member and elder of the First Christian Church and member of Parson Larson Sunday School class. He retired from Harbison-Walker Refractoreis Co. six years ago.
He is survived by: Mrs. Hampton, his wife, who lives at 805 Seventh St.; Thomas Hampton Jr., Overlan Park, Kan., a son; Mrs. Backer (Pearl) Douglas, Perry Lane, a daughter; Mrs. Gene (Helen) West, 1410 Kenwood Drive, a daughter; Albert R. Hampton, 205 E. Whitlow Drive, a brother; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Browning Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond McCallister performing the services. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery.
In lieu of flower, a memorial has been established at the First Christian Church in his memory.
Pallbearers will be: Dick Page, Westwood Tharp, Ollie Brewer, Jim Love, Harold Hauser and Jack Carrington. | Thomas Monroe Hampton
