4707	Virginia Grace Herring, age 86, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011, at Futon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 4, 1924 in Fulton, Missouri, a daughter of the late Ray B. Hall and Dixie May Newsom Hall. On February 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Henry L. "Toby" Herring. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister, Paulena Roewe. Grace worked for many years for the Fulton Steam Laundry. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2011, at the Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment will be at the Callaway Memorial Gardens cemetery in Fulton, Missouri.	Virginia Grace Hall

Tate Whose maiden name was Hamlin [Hamblin], was born Jan. 20, 1826, and grew to womanhood on what is now known as the William Bartley place, three and a half mile southeast of Williamsburg, MO. She died at the home of her son, Jasper J. Tate, near Mineola, on the 17th of March 1909, aged 83 years, 1 month, and 25 days. November 5, 1846, she was married to Mr. Nathaniel N. Tate, with whom she lived happily until his death which occurred March 22, 1881. she make her home thereafter with her son, J. J. Tate. Mrs. Tate was the mother on nine children, all of whom are still living. They are Jesse T. Tate of Williamsburg, Mrs Emma C. Hendricks of Roseville, CA, Mrs Lucy Penn of Danville, MO, Newton W. Tate of Williamsburg, Mrs. Marcia H. Windsor of Woodland, CA, J. J. Tate of Mineola, W. L. Tate of Duffan, TX and Mrs. Eliza E. Bibb of Reubens, ID. There are also five step-children living; Mrs. Betsy Scott of Williamsburg, Mrs. Mildred Penn of Montgomery City, Mrs Mag Goodman of Santa Rosa, CA, Mrs. Jennie Penn of Mineola and Richard H. Tate of Mineola. Two sisters survive her; Mrs. Ann Cobb of New Florence and Mrs Orva Tate of Mineola. Sister Tate was for over 40 years a faithful, devoted member of Mr. Horeb Baptist church. She was very kind and amiable to all with whom she associated, and was highly esteemed by all her neighbors, friends and relatives, as well as all the members of her church, she being the oldest member of the Mt. Horeb congregation. She was a tender loving mother and grandmother, a noble Christian woman. Her funeral, in accordance with her wish, was preached by Rev. R. E. McQuie at Mt. Horeb Thursday, March 18, 1909, at 11 a.m., in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends, after which the remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. * * * * * Montgomery Standard March 19, 1909 Mrs. Nathaniel Tate, aged about 80 years, died at the home of her son J. J. Tate, near Minneola, Wednesday morning, March 17th, 1909. Heart failure was the direct cause of death. A large family of children survive her. 4731	Charles B. Hamilton Dead. Charles B. Hamilton, aged 72 years, a farmer residing south of Bachelor, died of pneumonia Monday afternoon after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted at Old Auxvasse Presbyterian church, of which he was a member, by Rev. Sam G. Wood, of Auxvasse, Wednesday afternoon, and burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Hamilton was born in northeast Callaway January 24, 1839. His first wife was Miss Laura Pasley, of this county. To this union were born two children, one of whom survives, Mrs. James P. Shelton, of Bachelor. Later he married Miss Shelton and to them were born five children, as follows: Mrs. Charles Kemp, Bachelor; Mrs. Samuel Price, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Price Laws, Brookville, Kan.; Coley Hamilton, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and John Hamilton, Bachelor. Two brothers and one half sister also mourn his death. He was an honorable useful citizen, who, though not widely known, had many friends and was esteemed for his good qualities. 4744	Dies at 94 Mrs. Margaret Ann Hamilton Langtry, 94, one of the oldest residents in this section of Missouri, died at her home in Fulton this week. She had been ill for a long time and confined to her bed for 16 months. Funeral services were conducted at the Old Auxvasse Presbyterian church, near Calwood, where Mrs. Langtry had been a member since girlhood, and burial was in the Old Auxvasse cemetery. Mrs. Langtry was the daughter of John and Agnes Hamilton who came to Callaway county 99 years ago. They settled in the Bachelor community, in northeast Callaway, and Mrs. Langtry was born there. She was educated at the Robinson Seminary in Fulton, one of the foremost early-day schools for girls, and later taught in Callaway schools for several years. She was married in 1897 to Hillery Langtry, who survives. He is 91 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Langtry moved to Fulton form the county in 1902 and have since been among the best known residents of the county seat.	Margaret Ann Hamilton
