The above is not verified and parts may not be accurate.

I have found a headstone in Unity cemetery (Toledo, Callaway Co., Missouri) for P.D. Gilbert and wife, Wilmuth D. Gilbert. It says that P.D. Gilbert was actually buried at K.C. Gilbert farm, Jan. 24, 1854, age 45y 3m 18d. Wilmuth was buried in Unity Aug. 30, 1890, age 82y 2m 18d. I'm not sure of the relationship of P.D. Gilbert and Preston Gilbert, Wilmut is possibly this Preston Gilber's daughter. Altho the info above says Preston Gilbert's name was Micheal Gilbert. I am not looking into this further at this time since I am not descended from this family. I have pictures of the headstone on my website.

4327 Sad Accident
A little son of Samuel Gilbert, of this county while playing in the creek last week, ventured too far into the water and was drowned before assistance could be brought to his aid. The child was five or six years years of age, and had been left at home, says one account, with a negro boy who induced him to go to the creek. Another account says the little boy went to the creek with some women, who were washing and wandered away from them to the water and was drowned before they had missed him.

The parents of the little one have our sympathy in their sad bereavement.

4349 Signed her mother's death certificate in 1952. Her last name at that time was Overstreet.

She married Lee Carl Overstreet of St. Louis, in 1919. They divorced in 1925.

From the History of Callaway county, 1984 book:
Helen attended high school and Synodical College in Fulton. Following a business venture, she and Mary Eliza beth Wilson formed a business partnership for the operation of an insurance agency. The partnership continued until 1975 when the business was sold to Ferd Lightner. Both Overstreet and Wilson continued association with the business which is now known as the OWL Agency.
Helen is a descendant of early pioneer families of Callaway County, her grandparents having come from Kentucky and Virginia. Her father was a well known businessman in partnership with his brother James Buchanan Gilpin. Her mother was from a highly respected family - James T. and Jennie B. Kemper. At one time the Kempers and Gilpins owned a large acreage in the south part of Callaway County. The last tract, which had been in the family for over 120 years, was developed by her brother Tom for residential occupancy and is now known as Button Wood Trail-located four miles south of Fulton.
