Julius T. Gibbs' mother, Jane Frances Dulin, was a daughter of the third husband of Mariah Hill Herring, Thomas Dulin. He was also a descendent of Zacharias Gibbs, who was my 6th great grandfather through my Gibbs/Overton/Day line.

Sarah Gibbs was the 5th child of Francis and Nancy Ann Head Gibbs. She came to Callaway Co MO with her husband Lewis Overton after a stay in KY. Lewis Overton could have been from Orange Co VA as he was listed in the 1810 census as having 9 slaves and a family of 8 children, himself and Sarah. In 1820 in Shelby Co KY he was listed as having 6 slaves and 6 children, himself and Sarah and was a farmer. In 1830 he was in Callaway Co census two male children, and no females and himself in the 60/70 year and Sarah in the 60/70 year group, no slaves. In 1840 only he and Sarah were listed. They lived in Callaway Co until Sarah's death and he moved to Palmyra, Marion Co MO. He M: 2nd time to Nancy Fisher. Sarah and Lewis are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton.

Imprimus I Recommend my Soul to Almighty God hopeing for pardina nd forGiveness of all my Sins through the merits and medation of our Blessed Savior __
Item: I lend to my eloved Wife Mary Gibbs my Whole Estate Both Real and personal dureing her Natural life or Widowhood and after her Death or marriage to be Divided in the Following Manner __
Item: I give and Bequeath to my Son John Gibbs his heirs and assigns forever Third part of the Tract of Land whereon I now live __
Item: I give and Bequeath to my Son Francis Gibbs his heirs and assigns forever one Third part of the Tract of Land whereon I now live __

Kenneth A. Giboney, 64, of Columbia, died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at his home.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Nilson Funeral Home with Father Don Wallace and the Rev. Mike Kelleher officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial of Mr. Giboney's cremated remains will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Mr. Giboney was born Feb. 29, 1936, in Fulton to William Harley and Helen Frances Richards Giboney.
He married Frances Cox on Oct. 26, 1957, in Callaway County, and she survives.
Mr. Giboney was a teacher with the Missouri Department of Corrections and later worked at Columbia Regional Hospital before retiring. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Other survivors include three sons, Kenneth Giboney, Anthony Giboney and Mark Giboney, all of Columbia; a daughter, Penny Walker of Wilmington, N.C.; three brothers, Ronald Giboney of the state of Indiana, Donald Giboney of Fulton and Richard Giboney of the state of Ohio; five sisters, Doris Ann Crump of New Bloomfield, Virginia Stephens of Mexico, Mo., Katherine Wilmarth of the state of Texas, Frances Acison and Dorothy Maddox, both of Fulton; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William Giboney and Paul Giboney.

Mrs. Dabney Herring Dead
Native of Callaway County, Passed Away Sunday Evening at Age of 64 Years.
Mrs. Lucy Emma Herring, wife of Willis Dabney Herring, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Sunday evening at the home six miles south of Fulton from cerebral hemorrhage following a short illness of several days. She was 64 years of age.
Mrs. Herring was a daughter of the late Peter and Nancy Giboney. She was born December 6, 1863 in the same neighborhood where she spent practically all of her life. she was married on June 9, 1881 to Willis Dabney Herring, who survives her. To this union, eight children were born, six of them dying in infancy.
She leaves, in addition to her husband, two children; Roy L. Herring and Obie Herring, both of Fulton, to mourn her passing. she also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. W.B. Carthright of Fulton and Mrs. Sallie Bice of Jefferson City, in addition to seven grand children and other relatives. She was a member of the Ham's Prairie Christian church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and burial will be in the family cemetery. | Lucy Emma Giboney

Ronald J. Giboney, 76, passed away on Saturday morning, Jan. 12, 2008, at the Henry County Memorial Hospital in New Castle, Ind.
A son of Harley and Helen Breslien Giboney, Ronald was born in Fulton, Mo., on July 18, 1931. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on June 25, 1953, having earned the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star.
Formerly of Cambridge City, he has made his home in Straughn since 1983. He retired from Mosey Manufacturing in 1996 after 21 years of service.
He loved spending time with his family and playing cards. He was a member of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 of Cambridge City.
"Gib" is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Shirley Mae Gaddis. They were married in Fulton, M., on July 18, 1958. Also three daughters, Sabrina (Robert) Suttles of Straughn, Lisa (Raymond) Phillips of Cambridge City, Shawne (DeLayne) Land of New Castle; eight grandchildren, Renee, Tonya, Corenda, Robert, Denise, Tiffany, Ashley and James; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Frances Acison, Dorothy Maddox, Doris Crump and Virginia Stevens, all of Missouri.
His parents and six siblings preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. till the time of services at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 15, 2008, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin. Pastor Mike Riggs will officiate. Burial with military graveside honors provided by American Legion Post 169 will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery. | Ronald J. Giboney
