East Callaway Farmer Dead
W. A. (Dick) Dutton, one of the substantial farmers of east Callaway died at his home , four miles north of Williamsburg, Tuesday morning of heart trouble and complications. He was nearly 80 years old. Burial took place at High Point Christian Church cemetery near Williamsburg Wednesday afternoon.
Mr. Dutton is survived by his wife, whose maiden name is Sophia Love. and a number of grown children. All of his children were at his bedside when the end came.
Mr. Dutton for many years was one of the prominent men of the county and was held in high esteem by all who knew him. A large circle of friends sympathize with his family in their bereavement. | William Albert Dutton

3626 |
William Albert Dutton, son of John T. and Marry Dutton, was born in Lincoln county, Missouri, June 27, 1846, and died at his home near Shamrock, March 2, 1926. In 1854 he moved with his parents near Prairie Fork Creek, Callaway county and in 1881 he moved with his family to the home where he died.
On January 14, 1872, he was married to Sophia Love; To this union thirteen children were born, all of whom survived except Alexander, who died in infancy and Dennis Leroy, who died at his home in Gervais, Oregon , 5 July 1918. Those who survive are: Mrs. A. C. Ham, James W., Rose, Emmit, John, Mrs. G. D. Barker, Ira, Nettie, Elmore, Bessie, and Jesse. Besides his wife and children he is survived by two brothers, Phillip of Mineola, and George of New Florence; eleven grandchildren and many other relatives.
In early manhood he united with Antioch Christian church, and later became a charter member at High Point. He not only helped to establish High Point church but exemplified the teachings of the Master in church work. His home was at all times open to the man of affairs, his friends, the homeless wayfarer, and the stranger. His life was a life of long, loving service.
Death is not a wall but a door. We hear footfalls on the other side of the curtain which separates the seen from the unseen, mortals from immortals. If we have an equal love for the true God, love will outlast and laugh at death. He died with a faith that a harbor of happy peace awaits the end of each and all who trust the Great Conqueror of Death. Funeral services were conducted at High Point Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. J. D. Greer and internment was in the cemetery. | William Albert Dutton
