2801 12:18 p.m. Emily Or Emilie F. Criswell

2802 She lived in Guthrie Missouri all her life. She died at age 91 after being a patient in the Callaway Hospital for 2 days. She never married. Her sister, Bettie Sheley, signed her death certificate.

Name on headstone is spelled Emilie.

Callaway Weekly Gazette
Oct. 25, 1878
Married.
On Oct. 22nd, at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. Warner Criswell, by W.B. Walthall, Samuel Powell and Miss Emma Criswell.
Note: I found this marriage record and believe it is the right person. I wonder since she reportedly never married if this marriage ended quickly in a divorce or annulment? Don't know. She was not living at home with her parents in 1880.

2819 Obituary.
Jessey Criswell was born in Callaway County, Missouri, December 7th A.D. 1829, and died October 26th A.D. 1877 at the age of 47 years, 10 months and 19 days. He was married to Elizabeth J. Vinson, January 7th, 1864, who deeply mourns his loss. He was a member of the M.E. Church South, and lived a devoted christian and a gentle and kind husband until death called him home.
At his own request his funeral was preached by Bro. G.W. Penn from the 14th chapter of St. John. Bro. Penn's address was very eloquent and striking, and we trust was treasured up by his serious and attentive congregation.
