Piece of headstone with name Mary E. showing. This was probably Mary E. Herring, daughter of James Clark Herring and Sarah Jane Knight. Born 1851, died Aug. 31, 1864. She was a granddaughter of John Herring and Lucy Carver, and, William L. Knight and Eliza Hornbuckle. She was my 1st cousin 3 times removed.
