William Henry Herring and Elsie Alice Farris

William Henry Herring was born about 1859 in Callaway Co., Missouri. He my great granduncle, a son of George Washington Herring and Hester Ann Kemp..

On March 9, 1888 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Naomi Blumfield Dorsey. She was born about 1869 in Callaway Co., Missouri, and died between 1895 and 1900 probably in Callaway Co. Missouri. She was the adopted daughter of James H. Dorsey and Sarah Willing. Her birth name was Blumfield. She also went by the name of Nevada Dorsey.

This family seemed to fall apart after the death of the mother. The children were boarded out with relatives and others. As far as I can tell, they never lived together again after her death.

In 1910, Claude was living with his father and his 18 year old stepmother. I have found no other records of Claude. There is another Claude Herring, also born in 1894, who was a son of John Milton Herring and Cassander Woods. These two Claude Herrings are not the same person, they were 2nd cousins.
