    Mexico Weekly Intelligencer 
    • Mrs. Gray T. Hook, 71 years old, died at midnight Friday at her home in East Mexico after a long illness. A complication of ailments is given as the cause of her death.
      Funeral services for Mrs. Gray T. Hook were conducted Sunday afternoon at the home on East Pomenade Street. The Rev. W.A. Shullenberger officiated. The bearers were Mayor Willard Pottsm Judge J.T. Williams, Dr. G.F. Toalson, John Abbay, R.R. Arnold, S.M. Locke, J.W. McLoney and W.D. Lee. A large number of friends followed the body to its last reting place in Elmwood.
      Mrs. Hook leaves her husband, one son, John T. Hook of Paris, Mo., and three brothers and tewo sisters, the latter being James H., Hopson, and C.A. Kemp and Mrs. Nannie Saunders and Mrs. Mollie Canterbury, all of this city.
      Mrs. Hook's maiden name was Sallie Kemp. She was born in Callaway county and was the daughter of John Wesley and Anne Kemp, both of whom are dead. She moved with her parents to Audrain when quite young and had lived in Mexico many years.
      Mrs. Hook united with the Christian Church when a young woman and was a conscientious believer in the faith. She was a woman of excellent traits and enjoyed the respect of all who know her.
