Notes |
- Scott was born near Purdin in Linn Co., Missouri, the second child of Benjamin Franklin McGee and Ida Euphemia Jamison. His father and Mother were both born near Carrington in the years 1853 and 1857, respectively. Scott's mother died a few days after his birth, so his aunt Lucy Jamison Renoe and husband Lawrence E. Renoe took him to rear at their home near Carrington. He remained in Callaway County the rest of his life.
Scott was a prominent farmer, known especially for his interest in livestock and for his raising of cattle and registered sheep. Both he and his wife were dedicated and active members of the Carrington Baptist Church, interested in all community affairs and the Democratic political party.
