- Mrs. Mina C. Wickell, age 95, of Fulton, died on November 13, 2007, at the Presbyterian Manor where she had resided for four years. She was born on November 25, 1911, in Elton, Wisconsin, the daughter of Benjamin and Julia (Bowen) Clifton. On July 10, 1929, she married Henry H. Wickell in Fulton. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1995.
From this marriage were born five children. Mrs. Wickell is survived by two sons, Robert C. (wife Barbara Marie Wickell) of Clarkston, Michigan; Daniel G. (wife Barbara Key Wickell) of Chicago, Illinois; three daughters, June (husband Maurice "Rip" Russell) of Fulton; Lola J. (husband Jan P. Herring) of Bloomfield, Connecticut; Virginia Simmons (partner Paul Carver) of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Shauna Russell Qualls, Merrill (Terry) Russell, Rita Russell Adams, Cynthia McDaniel Gilmer, Daniel K. Wickell, Julie Wickell Mitchell, Georgianna Herring Collins and Pamela Herring Gray; twenty great-grandchildren; three great, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known as "Grammie".
She also was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Dallas "Boots" Clifton, Thomas "Tom" Clifton, Homer Clifton, and William "Bill" Clifton; four sisters, Mazie Clifton, Mabel Clifton Durham, Berniece Clifton Dolan, and Pearl Clifton Chapman; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wickell worked for LaCrosse Lumber Company off and on for over 30 years. She worked at the First National Bank from 1965 until her retirement in 1980. She served as a volunteer deliverer for Meals On Wheels for seven years.
Mrs. Wickell joined the Court Street United Methodist Church in 1931 and was an active member most of her life. She was an original and lifetime member of the women's Nora Esther Circle and served as treasurer of the annual Methodist Christmas Bazaar for many years. She was a former member of the Rebekkahs. Mrs. Wickell was a member of the Fulton Garden Club for several years and was well known for the beautiful roses that she grew in her yard. She was a superb cook who made some of the best holiday meals. Most importantly, she was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her children and grandchildren and always took time for each one of them. Mrs. Wickell was a fine woman and kindhearted person who truly cared for others in her community. She will be so sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 23, 2007, at the Court Street United Methodist Church in Fulton with Rev. Diana L. Loomis officiating. Burial will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday from 12:30 until time of service at the church.

- Henry H. Wickell married Mina Clifton in 1929 at Fulton, Missouri.
Mina Clifton was born Nov. 25, 1911 at Elton, Wisconsin. Her parents were Ben Clifton and Julia Bowen Clifton, born in Kentucky.
Henry and Mina had five children.
Mina worked for LaCrosse Lumber Company for many years and for Fulton National Bank for 15 years, she retired in December 1980. They lived at 901 Nichols Street, Fulton in a house they built in 1936.
Mina's father died Apr. 2, 1933 and is buried in Mt. Carmel cemetery, her mother was still living in 1984, age 98 years.
