  • Notes
    • Thomas was shot and killed by Mordica E. Golden on May 16, 1921 in front of the Methodist Church next to Thomas' home. Mordica was married to Sadie (Williams) Powell (she was a widow) and her brother was Pink Williams (later lieutenant Gov. of OK). Sadie and her father were charged as accomplices, but later released. Mordica was held in jail for months pending trial and was finally acquitted, even though he had confessed to the crime.
