Notes |
- He died in the U.S. Hospital for Defective Delenquents, Springfield, Missouri. From what I have learned, this hospital was a prison hospital for the criminally insane. It states on his death certificate that he died from cirrhosis of the liver and was an alcoholic since 1926, hemorrhage, spontaneous from oesophageal varices. I have not yet found why he was in prison. He was a patient in this hosptial for 7 months and 19 days.
His occupation before his death was a cook in a restaurant. The last date he actually worked was unknown. He might have been a cook in the Jewish Hospital in St. Louis in 1920. I am not positive about that census find.
Death certificate says his body was taken back to St. Louis for burial, but does not give a location. I am guessing that since he was not buried on hospital or prison grounds, but was taken back to St.Louis, he is probably buried in the Oak Grove cemetery in St. Louis.
The information about his parents on his death certificate was correct, it appears to have been taken from information he gave himself, as informant was listed as deceased.
