    • Edna C. Schreen, 94, Dixie, MO passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at Moniteau Care Center in California, MO.

      She was born March 9, 1909 in Dixie, Missouri the daughter of Marcellus Weber and Beulah Corley Cave who preceded her in death. She was married in 1929 to Carl Schreen who passed away December 8, 2000.

      She was a resident of Callaway County and graduated from New Bloomfield High School in 1927. She attended Warrensburg Teachers College where she received a teaching certificate. She was a teacher at Cave School near Dixie and was employed as a secretary with the Cole County Selective Service and the U. S. Department of Agriculture in Jefferson City until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of Dixie Christian Church. She was known for her quilting, canning and gardening.

      Survivors include 2 daughters, Carole Schroeder with her husband, Richard of California, MO, Mary Cole with her husband, Alex of Jacksonville, IL; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, Woodrow Cave of Elko, NV, Andy Ray Cave of New Bloomfield, MO, John Richard "Bill" Cave of Tebbetts, MO and William L. "Tom" Cave of Fulton, MO and 5 sisters, Ruby Starks of Parkville, MO, Helen Leet of Lexington, KY, Beulah Belle McCubbin of Clark, MO, Kathryn Wilson of Albuquerque, NM and Jean Dozier of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Marcellus W. Cave and Adrian "Chig" Cave and 1 sister, Hattie Jane Locke.

      Memorials services will be held at Dixie Christian Church, Dixie, MO, Sunday, October 5, 2003 at 2:00 P. M. Officiating will be Rev. Michelle Hinshaw. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Callaway County. There will be no visitation.

      Memorials are suggested to Dixie Christian Church, c/o Margaret Jones, New Bloomfield, MO 65063. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, MO.
