Notes	The book, A History of Callaway County 1884, lists his birth as 1796. I have not found this date anywhere else. The book gives the date of the family moving to Callaway Co. as 1837, but I find this date inconsistent with everything else I have researched about this family. It also states that he served in the War of 1812 as a drummer, and afterwards as drum-major in the State militia of Virginia.
