He sold his business to his uncle, Churchill Gibbs, in 1860. from Ebenezer cemetery listing * Roberts, William E- May 12 1826 Scott CO., Ky- Oct 12 1865, aged 39 yrs 5 mos Headtone says died Oct. 12, 1865, but is very hard to read. Daughter Clarissa was born in Sept. of 1866. Her death certificate lists parents as Evermont and Permelia Roberts, Evermont could be his middle name. Since headstone is engraved on three sides, it looks like it was all engraved at the same time, that would be at least 1912 when Permelia died. Date of 1865 could have been a mistake and should have been 1866. There is a third name on the headstone, but it is not readable. Perhaps it was one of their children, likely Albert who died in 1864.
