    • S.J. (Jack) Herring Dies Wednesday
      Funeral Services To Be Held Here Saturday Afternoon
      Seph J. (Jack) Herring, 72, died Wednesday evening at his home, 514a Court street, after an illness of five months. He had been suffering with a heart condition.
      Funeral services will be held at the Wallace Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. C.E. Hanan officiating, and burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
      Pallbearers will be Clarence Foster. Steve Ruffel, Elwood Day, Fred Rentschler, Ollie Robert, and Tom Day.
      Mr. Herring was a paper hanger and painter. He was born in Callaway County on December 11, 1875, a son of George W. and Joe Allen Herring. On August 16, 1910, he and Miss Myrtie Qualls were married. He is survived by his widow and two children, George Herring of Fulton, and Mrs. Ruby Payton of Long Beach, Calif., three grandchildren, Jan and Ralph Herring and Rodney Payton, and eith brothers and sisters, Norman and Grover Herring of Melrose, Fla., Woodson Herring of Craig, Colo., Herbert Herring and Mrs. Myrtle McCormick of Kansas City, Brent Herring of Detroit, Mich., Robert Herring and Mrs. Mamie Waters of Fulton.

      On the 1930 census, they lived at 202 Ravine Street in Fulton. Seth goes by the name of Jack.. They rent the house for $15, and have no radio. Jack is 54, married at 34. His occupation is a house painter, Myrtle and son George both work at the shoe factory.

      He died at home at 514 A. Court Street, Fulton, Missouri. His occupation was painter and paper hanger. He was buried in Hillcrest, but I have not yet found his headstone.
